When I first got involved in running my own business, I had a lot of things on my side: a good economy, an eager customer base, and a supportive community of friends and family. I had a lot going for me, but launching a new business was still about as hard to make happen as a Cavs championship season (What? Too soon?).
To everyone that works for me: you know I love you guys, right? But I gotta admit a deep, dark secret. If I were asked who my best employee is? I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said that he/she was not even human. This person works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When it comes to sales, he or she delivers exactly what I tell them to. He or she is my best customer service rep, he or she never has a bad day, and doesn’t want Medical or Dental. He or she doesn’t even ask me to match their 401k. Can you guess who I’m talking about?
Good ideas never go bad. They just go to other people!
